About Us

Amy has over 16 years of hands on photography experience. She holds several certifications such as Business Management, Photography, Advanced Photography, lighting techniques and computer graphics. She began working at Dover One Hour photo in 1998. Two years later she became the youngest assistant manager in the history of the company. She spent the next 14 years learning the trade, both behind the scenes and behind the Camera. She about color from film processing and later on digital color correction in Photoshop. Over the years she how to manipulate photos to obtain exactly what a customer wants. She learned to see things through the eye of a lens working along side some of the most prominent photographers & artists in Ocean County. She worked for a designer dress company in Lakewood, NJ photographing models in various elegant formal wear until 2007 when the business had an unfortunate fire and everything was lost. Since then she has been focusing on weddings and perfecting her work. She shoots with a Fuji Finepix S3 Pro and also has a Fuji Finepix S-1500 as a back-up camera

Daria Jean started off her journey in photography in 2004 at the Academy of the Arts. At first being a graphic artist was her goal but one photography class changed her mind. That same year she got a job at Picture People and 8 months later was an assistant manager. She met Amy at Dover One Hour photo where they worked as teacher and apprentice as well as partners until the business closed in 2005. After that she became immersed in landscape and architecture allowing her to also take a laid back approach to learning new techniques. She has also shot products for an internet drop ship company and designed several logos for them. She then went onto work as a photographer and photo editor at Ocean County College's Viking Newspaper. In 2009 she won 2nd place for best Sports photo in a Junior College by the New Jersey Collegiate Press Association She is currently in the process of getting her personal work featured in galleries. She shoots with a Pentax K20D (with lenses and flashes in tow) and a Pentax K100D Super as back-up



Jamielynn Ryan is a professional portrait and event photographer in Ocean County, New Jersey. She has over six years of experience in diverse areas of photography, including portraiture, fashion photography, weddings and special events among others. She has had the privilege with working with many local artists including, but not limited to: makeup artists, musicians, and aspiring models. In college, Jamielynn photographed for the newspaper as a sports photographer and was honored with a first place award in the category of sports photography by the New Jersey Collegiate Press Association. In 2009, she opened up her own photography business, Jamielynn Ryan Photography. Today she continues to build her business while working as a photographer for Fata Morgana Photography. Lizz joined Fata Morgana Photography in 2010 and has been a great addition to the team with her willingness to learn and extreme attention to detail! She went to Ocean County College and Peter's Valley for photography classes. She first shot with film and then moved onto digital and still uses the same lenses now that she did when she started! Her main source of income is being a concert photographer but she does a lot of assisting work for Fata Morgana Photography. She shoots with a Pentax K10D in infrared which is a very unique type of camera to shoot with as well as a Pentax K7 with a 35-105mm DA* lens and several other lenses and flashes.

Shannon  is the newest member of Fata Morgana Photography as of 2012. She graduated from Hallmark Institute of Photography in Turners Falls, MA. She and Daria worked together almost daily at the Picture People in the Monmouth Mall back in 2005. Shannon is a wonderful assistant and second shooter. She also helps Fata Morgana in the marketing department.
